Implantation

To place the Stening® YP4 it is necessary to introduce the prosthesis inside a bronchoscope, bringing its bronchial branches together.

Then the trachea is intubated with the bronchoscope until it stops near the main carina, and the prosthesis is pushed from inside the bronchoscope with a forceps. Other useful introduction methods have been described.

Removal

Intubation is performed with a tracheoscope. Removal is simpler: the stent must be grasped by its proximal edge with strong forceps and withdrawn gently by pulling on it, extracting the prosthesis together with the tracheoscope.

Post-implant care

Recommendations for the follow-up of the paediatric patient with a stent.

  • Frequent nebulizations when secretions are present.
  • Periodic check-ups according to medical criteria.

Warning of use
